Welcome to our award-winning community pub. Situated just outside York's historic city walls to the south of the centre, The Swan is just a short stroll over the river via Skeldergate Bridge from Clifford's Tower and the rest of York's world famous city centre attractions.

Our small, two-roomed, traditional ale-house is also revered far and wide, not only for its rare and wonderfully-preserved Grade II listed inter-war interior, but also for the quality of the ale, the friendliness of the service and the exceptionally warm and inclusive general ambience.

Newcomers are invariably delighted to find that The Swan is very much a "proper pub", a thriving street corner local of the sort wistfully believed by many to have been consigned to a long lost past.
